There are plenty of theories regarding what colleges and universities want in selecting their students, but what do the people who actually engage in a holistic review of student applications say? Admissions officers from Texas public and private colleges and universities will respond to questions about the role of advanced academics coursework in the admissions process and provide insight regarding such aspects as strength of schedule, recommendation letters, and student essays.

If you had to choose a career today, what would you choose and why? What type of education would that require? How much money does that career make? How much will it cost you to get trained for that career? Our session will share resources where you can explore each of these questions and more. We’ll also discuss why early exploration can help you save time, money, and frustration.

Prepping for the SAT

College Readiness exams are a part of high school. Learn about the format of each of these exams including what they measure, the range of scores, and tools to prepare for success like Khan Academy, EBSCO Test Prep, Princeton Review, and the SAT Question of the Day. We will also discuss what they mean for the college admissions process and how they can impact scholarships and certain program opportunities.

Megan Bullock, with the University of Texas OnRamps dual enrollment program, presents a virtual information session for parents and students to share details about the OnRamps opportunity. Through UT OnRamps high school students can experience “college before college” while earning college credit and gaining knowledge and skills to support their post-secondary success.
